The organisation is forward-thinking, committed to long-term impact, and operates with robust governance and sustainable practices.  About the Role:We are working with a values-led non-profit organisation to recruit a Head of Finance to join the senior leadership team. The successful applicant will provide strategic oversight of finance and IT, ensuring operational excellence and long-term financial resilience during a time of sector-wide challenges.This role requires a strong financial leader with experience in strategic planning, compliance, and stakeholder engagement. You’ll be instrumental in shaping the organisation’s financial future, supporting growth, and maintaining a high standard of financial governance.  Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the organisation’s financial strategy to support the overall mission and sustainability.
  • Maintain robust financial systems and controls that meet regulatory standards and ensure annual clean audits.
  • Oversee the organisation’s budget setting, financial forecasting, treasury management, and long-term planning.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify and support growth opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, particularly commissioners and local authority contacts.
  • Provide expert financial advice to the CEO and Board on performance and risk management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.
  • Support contract management processes, including reviews and renegotiations.
  • Lead financial elements of tenders and bids for new business opportunities.
  • Manage organisational insurance and coordinate all claims-related activities.
  • Oversee the outsourced IT provision and act as the executive lead on technology infrastructure.
  • Prepare statutory accounts and lead the annual audit process.
  • Produce detailed monthly reports, KPIs, and financial insights for internal stakeholders.
  • Support the organisation through growth and change, including taxation, compliance, acquisitions, and corporate finance matters.
  • Manage financial interactions between the parent organisation and any subsidiaries.
