Altum Consulting are proud to be partnering exclusively with a prestigious and internationally recognised performing arts organisation to find their next Head of Finance. The Head of Finance will lead a high performing finance function during a pivotal period of growth and innovation.

The Role

As Head of Finance, you will lead a skilled team of finance professionals, ensuring the delivery of an efficient, collaborative, and business-focused service across the organisation. You will play a central role in supporting senior leadership, driving financial strategy, and enabling the organisation to deliver its creative and social mission.

You'll be responsible for all aspects of financial management - from statutory compliance and system leadership to strategic planning, cost control, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a team of qualified and part-qualified accountants
  • Deliver accurate, timely and insightful management and financial reporting
  • Lead on budgeting, forecasting and strategic business planning
  • Drive process improvements, innovation, and greater use of finance systems
  • Oversee VAT, tax compliance and all statutory reporting under Charity SORP and FRS102
  • Support payroll operations and system transitions in collaboration with HR
  • Provide expert advice to senior leaders and act as a key finance business partner
  • Monitor and manage cashflow and investment policies
  • Ensure robust internal controls and maintain a high level of financial integrity
  • Represent finance in governance and cross-organisational strategic projects

About You

  • A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experienced in a senior finance role within the arts, not-for-profit, charity, or creative sector
  • Knowledgeable in financial systems, audit, VAT, and commercial analysis
  • Skilled in managing teams and building financial capability across departments
  • An effective communicator and trusted advisor to stakeholders at all levels
  • Detail-oriented, well-organised and able to work under pressure
  • Committed to the organisation's values and mission in the arts and culture sector
