Our client is a well-established B2C services provider with a genuinely unique offer for their target market. The business is a privately owned regulated financial services provider, offering a highly tailored service to consumers planning to achieve their long-term financial goals. Based in Teesside, the close-knit team of c50 colleagues together deliver great outcomes for their customers via their own branded, high touch, service-oriented process. With the business seeking to develop further opportunities in its’ successful core B2C business, growth has been targeted via exciting plans to with their innovative B2B service offering within the Financial Services market also.

The business now requires the right Head of Finance (with potential to step up to FD) to play a key role in the execution of those strategic goals. As Finance "Number #1", you will play a pivotal role in driving the business, advising and guiding the Board on key decisions. Leading a small team, you will provide high quality data and management information as well as ensuring the delivery of all budget reports and accounts. You will lead and guide on company secretarial, risk & regulatory matters and manage effective relationships with the company’s external financial partners as well as taking responsibility for business transformation projects as the business grows.

You will be an experienced Finance professional looking to work within a close-knit, values-led SME and where your contribution is much more than just Finance. You may currently be a Head of Finance or Financial Controller looking to step up to FD or an ambitious FD seeking a more pivotal, strategic role? Most important is your ability to apply your expertise to the role and have the drive to help deliver against the company’s growth objectives. Job Title: Head of Finance (FD Designate)

Reports in: Finance Team x2

Key Deliverables:

• As a key SMT member, drive the growth strategy by executing the strategic finance plan
• Lead the Finance team in delivering all core financial reports and valuable management information
• Develop and evolve robust, compliant annual budgeting and forecasting systems and reports
• Deliver key Board Reports and work closely with the Board in advising and guiding business operations
• Manage and maintain effective relationships with functional colleagues and external partners
• Contribute to strategy and business growth as the role evolves to FD status and board appointment

Location: North-East England

Package: Negotiable salary / bonus plus excellent benefits package

Candidate profile:

• Ambitious and commercial Finance professional, seeking a pivotal role in a fast-growth business
• Demonstrable operational pedigree in relevant settings, ideally including services businesses
• Genuinely collaborative and engaging, able to advise and guide as well as lead on all finance issues
• Evidence of managing all core finance functions (inc. reports, regulatory, external auditors etc)
• Actively seeking a strategic finance role and able to contribute to the wider business as a Board member
• Ambitious Head of Finance, FC or FD with the ability to excel within a dynamic SME environment
• FS or B2C services experience useful but not essential, but comfortable within a regulated environment
• Genuine team player, engaging and collaborative, works well with internal & external partners
• ACA / CIMA / ACCA qualified as well as practical achievement in your career to date
