We are seeking a highly skilled Head of Finance (Development) to provide strategic financial leadership across new development, acquisitions, and key business initiatives. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to the Executive team, offering commercial insight, challenging proposals, and guiding major financial decisions.
As Head of Finance (Development), you will:
- Reporting into the Finance Director you will lead and inspire a team of Accountants and analysts, fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture.
- Partner with the Executive team, Directors, and senior stakeholders to provide financial leadership, challenge, and insight.
- Lead on investment and development appraisals, acquisitions, and asset management reviews to ensure financial viability and alignment with organisational strategy.
- Ensure the delivery of accurate, timely and value-added financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts.
- Contribute to strategic projects and provide commercial support to functions such as HR, IT and corporate services.
- Uphold strong financial controls, governance, and compliance while ensuring processes are efficient and stakeholder-friendly.
- Act as a key member of the senior finance leadership team, driving continuous improvement and embedding a values-led culture.

The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified finance professional (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA or equivalent).
- Have significant experience in business partnering within the social housing sector.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in investment appraisals.
- Bring a proven track record of influencing and supporting senior leaders, including Executive teams and Boards.
- Have experience managing and developing high-performing finance teams.
- Show confidence, credibility, and resilience, with the ability to challenge constructively and build trusted relationships.
