Environmental Protection Team Manager

Are you an experienced Environmental Health professional ready to lead a high-performing team at the heart of community wellbeing?

The client that I am working with is looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking Environmental Protection Team Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of their Environmental Protection Team.

This pivotal role oversees the delivery of key statutory services, including air quality monitoring, noise nuisance investigations, contaminated land regulation, and pollution control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and develop a team delivering statutory environmental functions.

• Drive service improvement, performance management, and customer focus.

• Provide expert advice and represent the Council at meetings, committees, courts, and public inquiries.

• Support strategic planning, budgeting, and inter-agency collaboration.

• Ensure regulatory compliance and contribute to wider corporate priorities.

What we’re looking for:

• EHRB-registered Environmental Health Officer (or equivalent).

• Strong leadership and people management skills.

• Experience in delivering high-quality environmental regulatory services.

• Confidence in stakeholder engagement and public representation.
