Head of Engineering - Manchester - £120,000 + BonusThe Company:Lorien Global are working with a forward-looking organisation in the gaming sector, known for delivering cutting-edge technology to an ever-evolving market. With innovation at its core, the company is now searching for a Head of Engineering to lead a high-performing team based in central Manchester.The Role:As Head of Engineering, you'll be at the forefront of a key technology workstream, championing modern engineering practices and embedding a strong DevOps mindset across the teams. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be responsible for guiding software delivery, strengthening collaboration, and supporting the shift from monolithic systems to microservices.This is an exciting time to join! • Lead and define engineering best practices across the workstream
• Drive the adoption of DevOps principles to streamline delivery and operations
• Work with stakeholders to develop a plan to address technical debt
• Oversee and support engineering squads to ensure efficient team structures
• Maintain stability and performance across platforms
• Encourage internal development through coaching and training opportunities
• Implement reporting tools and metrics to track progress and improve processes

Skill Requirements:

• Proven track record leading engineering functions in digital or tech-led businesses
• Strong technical background in C# .NET environments
• Experience building DevOps capabilities and embedding CI/CD workflows
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud platforms (AWS/VMware)
• Clear understanding of software delivery methodologies and QA practices
• Confident communicator with the ability to work across teams and influence decision-makers
• Strategic thinker passionate about continuous improvement and innovation
