Role:               Head of Adult Protection & Safeguarding Manager

Based:            West Yorkshire

Salary:            £40-45,000 pa

Hours:             37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Start Date:      ASAP

Duration:        Permanent

Holiday Entitlement: 25 days + Bank Holidays

Our client, a respected charity who provide support, advocacy and safe housing to survivors of Domestic Abuse, Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery, is searching for a dynamic Safeguarding Specialist to join their passionate team!

Synopsis of duties:

  • As a key member of the senior leadership team, you'll spearhead the development and implementation of robust safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Provide expert guidance and oversight on safeguarding matters
  • Support management in the production of robust risk assessments
  • Represent the organisation at various forums and events including sitting on committees and boards
  • Manage partnerships and ensure legal compliance
  • Oversee team management and support staff development
  • Develop and deliver training sessions
  • Write and present presentations

Essential Requirements:

  • Possesses extensive knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety practices
  • Demonstrates empathy, resilience, and dedication to supporting vulnerable individuals
  • Excels in communication and collaboration, both internally and externally
  • Is committed to continuous learning and professional development
  • Degree level education or equivalent
  • Specialist training in the Safeguarding Arena is desirable
  • Demonstrable experience in managing teams and working in multi-agency environments
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • A commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and equality is essential
  • Ability to manage crisis, conflict, safeguarding and complex case situations.
  • Ability to empower and motivate team members
  • Hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle daily and business insurance
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service would be desirable
