Salary £42,977 to £54,395 per annum depending on experience

Hours: 35 hours per week

The Royal Agricultural University "RAU" has been at the forefront of agricultural education for over 175 years and is globally renowned for its links with industry and courses that are designed to meet the demands of the changing land-based sector.

The Head of Academic Quality provides strategic leadership to the institution regarding all aspects of academic quality and standards. They oversee the operational management of the Academic Quality team, and have overall responsibility for academic governance and policy, the academic quality assurance lifecycle, and the management of student casework.

This is an exciting time within Academic Services at RAU, with ambitious plans to improve the student experience through reform of our academic framework for undergraduate programmes, raising the pass mark thresholds for postgraduate taught programmes and assuring validation for our excellent research portfolio. As the new Head of Academic Quality, you would play a key role in ensuring these strategic goals are met to a rigorously high standard.

The successful applicant will have extensive knowledge of quality assurance practice in a HE context and HE regulatory requirements including the OfS conditions of registration and QAA advice and guidance. We are looking for clear and adaptive communicators with good stakeholder management skills, and the ability to make logical decisions in complex situations.

This role reports to the Director of Academic Services and has line management responsibility over the Academic Quality team. Key stakeholders include academic staff including the senior academic leadership, External Examiners and Advisors, partner institutions and HE regulatory bodies.
