Job Title: Handyman / Multi-Skilled Operative

Salary: £28,000 per annum overtime

Additional Pay: £50 per hour for out-of-hours call-outs

Location: Wilmslow (Travel site to site)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Handyman to join our team within a charitable housing association. The role will focus on carrying out small repairs, ensuring our tenants’ homes are safe, comfortable, and well-maintained. You will be working across our housing stock, providing a responsive and efficient repair service with a focus on customer care and quality.

• Carry out day-to-day small repairs and maintenance tasks within tenants’ homes and communal areas (e.g., joinery, plumbing, painting, basic electrical work, plastering, locks/doors, minor tiling).
• Respond to repair requests in a timely and professional manner, ensuring a high level of tenant satisfaction.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks and safety checks as required.
• Assess repair needs, source materials, and complete works to a high standard, ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines.
• Participate in the out-of-hours rota, responding to emergency repairs when required (paid at £50 per hour).
• Maintain accurate records of completed works using the association’s reporting systems.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and support staff to deliver a high-quality housing service.

• Previous experience in a handyman or multi-skilled trades role, ideally within housing or property maintenance.
• Good all-round repair skills (basic plumbing, joinery, decorating, and general maintenance).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Good communication and customer service skills, with a sensitive approach to working in tenants’ homes.
• Must be able to do admin and paperwork
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable but not essential).
• A flexible approach, including willingness to participate in the out-of-hours rota.
