Job Description :

The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and implementing a culture of good health & safety practice throughout the group and will look at areas such as supporting compliance, reducing risks and providing guidance and implementation throughout this multi-faceted company.

This position will be Ross on Wye, Herefordshire based with regular travel to other parts of the business across the UK.

The Health & Safety Advisor will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and developing group Health & Safety policies and continuous improvement strategies
  • Provide direction and assistance to Managers based at our satellite Agriculture, Poultry and Fruit production sites in the UK
  • Visit sites and engage with Managers, ensuring responsibilities on site, ensuring compliance and keeping up to date with legislation
  • Providing technical advice and resources relating to risk management
  • Working with the wider Group Management team and employees to continuously drive Health and Safety initiatives
  • Auditing internal H&S management systems
  • Lead with implementation of H&S good practice across the business
  • Liaising with enforcing bodies as required
  • Provide guidance and advice to other parts of the business involved in property and storage

The ideal Health & Safety Advisor will have:

  • Experience in a Health & Safety Management or an Advisory position, ideally within Agriculture or food production
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) but National Diploma (or equivalent) - preferable
  • Ability to travel on a national basis and manage your own diary
  • 2 years of H&S practical knowledge

The right candidate will create a positive attitude towards H&S and one that allows freedom of communication. They will establish "buy in" at all levels of management, supervisors and seasonal workers whilst advising all staff on the importance of "ownership" of H&S necessities.

Salary - £45,000 per annum

This position will require the post holder to travel so a full clean UK driving licence is essential together with the use of their own car.

There will be a requirement for occasional overnight stays to facilitate visits to sites across the group.
