Group Technical & Statutory Accountant, PE backed Sustainability, £70-75k + bonus, London

We are working exclusively with a fast-growing sustainability consultancy who are backed by an instantly recognisable PE powerhouse. As the business continues to grow both organically and through strategic acquisitions, they are seeking a skilled and motivated Group Technical & Statutory Accountant to join their London-based team.

Reporting to the Group Technical & Statutory Reporting Manager, this is pivotal in maintaining IFRS compliance, supporting the group audit, and preparing statutory accounts for UK entities. You'll also contribute to technical accounting projects, support acquisitions, and play a key part in enhancing internal financial processes globally.

This position offers high visibility across group functions (Legal, Tax, Treasury, M&A) and strong opportunities for long-term progression in a dynamic, fast-evolving finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the group audit process and prepare consolidated IFRS accounts across c40 countries.
  • Prepare UK entity statutory accounts (FRS 101/102).
  • Own the annual IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss model for group audit.
  • Liaise with external auditors, manage queries, and ensure timely delivery of audit requirements.
  • Draft technical accounting papers and prepare complex journals.
  • Support M&A activity, including purchase price allocations and opening balance reviews.
  • Help align acquired businesses to group policies (e.g. IFRS 15, IFRS 9).
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the global Finance Manual.
  • Drive process improvements and participate in ad hoc finance projects.

About You

  • ACA/ CA qualified 2+ years post-qualified experience
  • In-depth IFRS knowledge and ability to produce high-quality technical papers.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with multi-currency data sets.
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent organisational skills and a process-led mindset.
  • Able to work independently, prioritise effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
