Group Technical Accountant - Grafton Banks Limited : Job Details

Grafton Banks Finance is working with an international charity to recruit its Group Technical Accountant.

This role will be part of a proactive Group Finance Team and will be responsible for ensuring the charities compliance with FRS, Charity SORP, and other statutory and regulatory requirements.

We are looking for a newly or recently qualified accountant, ideally practice trained, who is technically strong. Experience of IFRS and/ or Charity SORP would be an advantage but isn’t essential.

Our client can offer lots of flexibility for the right applicant with the options to work hybrid of largely remotely. The clients’ offices are in Haywards Heath, West Sussex.

Key duties:

• Preparation and review of IFRS and UKGAAP reporting and technical accounting papers.
• Advice, support and consult stakeholders in relation to technical accounting issues and provide technical expertise on complex accounting issues.
• Liaison with auditors on technical accounting issues.
• Interpret and implement new IFRS developments/standards, including assisting with the project management and oversight of significant changes in standards impacting the Group’s reporting processes, and advice on preparing external disclosure notes.
• Provide analytics, guidance, and support on specific technical accounting areas such as Fixed Assets, End of Service Benefits, VAT, and other tax issues.
• Support the payroll process through the monthly review of the payroll reports prior to submission to the payroll bureau.
• Responsibility for the preparation of accounting journals, reconciliations and reports for our investment’s portfolio.
