Group Tax Assistant Sheffield, South Yorkshire Up to £40,000 DOE + benefitsElevation Accountancy & Finance Recruitment Group are delighted to be partnering with a long-standing, well-established business in their search for an experienced Group Tax Assistant. Key Responsibilities

• Act as the lead technical authority on tax matters across the Group, providing guidance to Business Unit Finance teams on resolving tax issues
• Monitor and assess industry trends and legislative updates, proposing effective tax strategies, structures, and best practices for the Group
• Prepare and file UK Corporate Tax and VAT returns in line with compliance requirements
• Proactively identify potential tax risks, putting in place appropriate systems and controls to manage and minimise exposure
• Review and enhance internal procedures to maintain compliance with VAT regulations, introducing new processes where necessary
• Oversee tax compliance for cross-border transactions, particularly between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, in the context of post-Brexit rules
• Manage Irish and EU VAT and corporate tax filings
• Take responsibility for the SAO (Senior Accounting Officer) process and associated controls
• Contribute to the development and implementation of processes and tax best practices across the Group
• Provide tax technical support on a range of projects, including corporate restructuring, M&A, and financing activities, to optimise the Group’s tax position and reduce risk
