Job Description :

Unite Students has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Group Portfolio Analyst to join the team, you can be based in Bristol or London.

The purpose of the role is to deliver performance analysis and insight for Unite`s property portfolio, bringing best practice modelling expertise to understand, forecast and report on our portfolio performance. You will identify key opportunities and risks to support decision making on capital allocation. The role forms part of the Portfolio Management team, reporting to the Head of Portfolio Management and working closely with Group FP&A.

What You`ll Be Doing

  • Develop and implement the Group`s asset-level portfolio model, working with key stakeholders to ensure appropriate functionality and outputs.
  • Provide regular updates to the portfolio model, working with key stakeholders to ensure appropriate and accurate inputs.
  • Provide timely, clear and robust analysis on actual and forecast portfolio/asset performance to identify opportunities and risks to NAV and Earnings and support the prioritisation of capital allocation and asset planning.
  • Provide consolidated property performance reporting across Asset Management, Development and Investment, providing a single view of performance to key stakeholders including Portfolio & Growth Performance Teams.
  • Close working relationship with the Group FP&A function for development of annual budgets, in-year forecasts and five-year financial plan
  • Provide financial modelling expertise to support the Portfolio Management team on more complex investment and development opportunities.
  • Proactively develop and maintain relationships with the Property and Finance functions, together with other business stakeholders.
  • Take initiative to identify and prioritise required tasks with focus on adding value and providing insight.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of the business, our strategy, activities of our competitors; keep up to date with trends and best practice within own professional area.

What We`re Looking for in You

  • Experienced real estate analyst. Excellent analytical skills with experience of designing, building and operating financial models as a core component of a previous role(s).
  • Comfortable working on both a strategic or highly detailed basis, with the ability to demonstrate commercial awareness.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and experienced in the use of Powerpoint.
  • Excellent communications skills including inspiring trust and influencing; communicating technical performance information in a clear and commercial manner; adapting style and content for different audiences; and demonstrating a confident, credible and accomplished presentation style.
  • Evidence of working in a fast paced, high change environment and prioritising multiple demands effectively whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy, quality and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships, supporting a high level of collaboration. Confident in the ability to provide challenge and seek consensus where appropriate.
  • The ability to understand, empathise with and deliver against customer needs.
  • Willingness to learn about the wider business. Curiosity and personal drive to be better.
  • Possess and promote a positive attitude, with the ability to adapt swiftly and a willingness to undertake challenging tasks.
  • The role can be based in either Bristol or London but must be flexible and capable of undertaking travel to our offices in Bristol and London and other UK locations as required. We work best when together and expect to average at least three days a week in the office.
