Our client is a renowned food brand rooted in bold flavours, quality ingredients, and exceptional hospitality. With a portfolio that includes delis, restaurants, a bakery, cookbooks, and a growing e-commerce and events arm, the business has built a global following and an iconic culinary presence in London and beyond.
We are now seeking a commercially minded Group Financial Controller to join the leadership team and take ownership of group-wide financial operations, reporting, and controls as we continue to grow and diversify.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Controls
Oversee month-end close and consolidated group financial reporting
Ensure robust financial controls, balance sheet reconciliations, and compliance across all entities
Manage year-end processes and statutory accounts, liaising with external auditors and tax advisors
Team Leadership
Lead and develop the finance team (including AP/AR, management accounts, payroll)
Instill a culture of accuracy, accountability, and commercial awareness
Drive process improvements and systems optimisation
Budgeting & Forecasting
Own the annual budgeting cycle and rolling forecasts
Provide financial insight to the leadership team to support decision-making
Work closely with operations to ensure budgetary control and spend discipline
Business Partnering & Commercial Finance
Deliver KPIs and financial performance dashboards to senior stakeholders
Provide commercial analysis on new initiatives (new sites, retail products, partnerships, etc.)
Act as a strategic partner to operational teams to support profitability and growth
Systems & Process Improvement
Champion automation and systems improvements across finance (e.g. POS, ERP, inventory management)
Help integrate new revenue channels (e-commerce, events) into core finance processes
Requirements
Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with post-qualified experience
Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance leader, ideally in hospitality, retail, FMCG, or a multi-site environment
Strong understanding of financial reporting, controls, and commercial finance
Experience managing a finance team and working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
Hands-on, proactive, and solutions-oriented with a passion for food and hospitality
Strong systems knowledge - comfortable driving improvements in finance tools and reporting
