Group Finance Manager  London (City) / (Hybrid Working)  Financial Services  About the Company:  Our client is a dynamic and fast-paced financial services firm that has recently undergone significant positive changes. With a new CFO at the helm, they are on a journey to enhance their financial processes and build a sustainable platform for growth. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a private equity-backed business with a rich history of organic and acquisitive growth.  Role Overview:  Our client is seeking a qualified Group Finance Manager with a strong background in financial services. The successful candidate will play a critical role within their finance team, working closely with the Group Financial Controller to produce accurate financial information and ensure robust financial controls. This is a hands-on role requiring a blend of technical accounting skills, financial analysis, and leadership capabilities.  Key Responsibilities:  Financial Reporting, Processes, and Controls:
  • Produce accurate financial information, including external/internal reporting, audits, monthly P&L, BS, CF consolidation, and interim reporting.
  • Establish and enforce robust financial reporting controls.
  • Review and challenge the work of junior finance team members, ensuring compliance with IFRS.
  • Provide technical support to junior team members on complex accounting issues.
  • Oversee and improve transactional finance processes.
  • Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
  Tax, Treasury, and Compliance: 
  • Lead the production of consolidated statutory financial statements, ensuring IFRS compliance.
  • Act as the main point of contact for external auditors and coordinate audit processes.
  • Assist in managing the VAT return process and support VAT arrangements.
  • Collaborate with external corporate tax team and advisors on annual tax returns and treasury processes.
  • Deliver regulatory submissions and capital/liquidity planning activities.
  • Support the wind-up of legal entities post-integration.
  Leadership and Management:
  • Foster a collaborative culture within the finance team and across the organisation.
  • Participate in finance improvement and system replacement projects.
  • Establish strong relationships to share best practices and encourage a "one team" mindset.
  Financial Analysis:
  • Analyse monthly financial performance and provide narrative on variances.
  • Support the production of weekly cashflow forecasts.
  • Play a key role in budgeting and forecasting processes.
  Acquisitions and Growth: 
  • Be actively involved in the company’s acquisitions, playing a crucial role in financial due diligence, quality of earnings reviews, and the integration of new acquisitions.
  • Work closely with the CFO, Group Financial Controller, and Head of FP&A on strategic acquisition initiatives.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support acquisition decisions and post-acquisition integration.
  • Lead financial assessments and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of new acquisitions into the business.
  General:  
  • Assist the Group Financial Controller and work on ad hoc projects as needed.
  Candidate Profile:
  • ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with a strong commercial mindset.
  • Minimum 2-3 years post-qualification experience.
  • Solid understanding of IFRS and UK/US GAAP.
  • Experience with complex multi-entity consolidation.
  • Self-starter with a hands-on approach.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to build rapport at all levels.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Structured thinker capable of simplifying complex issues.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo.
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
