Governance Manager - Reed : Job Details

Our client in the Uxbridge area is seeking a Governance Manager to play a pivotal role in leading and developing governance and compliance structures that support circular economy ambitions. This role is integral to ensuring the integrity, transparency, and effectiveness of the company's leadership and decision-making processes.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Coordinate governance across various boards and external partnerships.
• Prepare and manage essential documentation for all key meetings, including agendas, minutes, charters, forward plans, and action logs.
• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance, maintaining the Applicable Legislation document.
• Support organisational development by embedding quality standards such as ISO 9001.
• Provide biannual governance reports to the Audit Committee and produce the Annual Governance Statement.
• Support strategic planning through accurate reporting and effective communication flows between teams and leadership.
• Line manage the Sustainability Programme Lead and mentor the Communications Manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong experience in governance or company secretarial roles.
• Skilled in meeting management, documentation, and decision-tracking.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Able to navigate regulatory requirements and governance.
• Comfortable coordinating across multiple teams and functions.
• Degree (or equivalent experience) in law, governance, business, or related field.

Desirable:

• Professional qualification in corporate governance or company secretarial practice.
• Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality frameworks.
• Familiarity with environmental or public sector regulatory requirements.
• Experience in sustainability or climate-related programme support.
