£810.00 per day (Umbrella)

Birmingham (Hybrid)

The UK Data & Analytics Office at HSBC UK is driving the transformation towards a truly data-driven organisation. By embedding data considerations into every design decision, the team ensures data and analytics are central to business strategy. Collaborating with global stakeholders and delivery teams, the office connects business processes, data, products, services, and technology to deliver customer value and financial success.

We are seeking a Governance & Assurance Manager to join this dynamic team. The successful candidate will work across all lines of business and infrastructure functions to monitor, measure, and report on data risks, controls, and issues. You will also lead assurance activities to ensure best practices are adopted in line with global data standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare governance papers and meeting materials, including Board-level submissions
  • Track remediation activities and ensure timely delivery
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement, including scheduling and logistics
  • Respond to information requests from UK and Group stakeholders
  • Review material controls testing and liaise with 1LoD and 2LoD assurance teams
  • Conduct internal and external research to support governance activities
  • Develop and maintain terms of reference for governance forums
  • Support monthly working groups and governance forums
  • Manage issue and action tracking, reporting, and closure
  • Perform continuous monitoring and assurance of control effectiveness
  • Conduct regulatory horizon scanning and impact assessments

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in governance and assurance roles
  • Strong background in preparing and facilitating formal governance meetings
  • Skilled in drafting governance submissions and Board-level papers
  • Experience identifying and addressing governance control gaps
  • Ability to drive change through governance processes
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
