General Manager Transport - Focus Resourcing : Job Details

Join a National, industry leader as the Operations / General Manager in their Swindon based office.

The role of the General Manager is to lead and inspire a large team to enhance delivery and customer service across all product lines, and the overall Division. Required to control all operations and appropriate commercial matters to deliver the Company's plan and objectives.

This is a role where you will be overseeing the largest Operation Centre P&L in the specific Division.

The client is looking for a strong Transport Management background with a CPC.

Main Responsibilities

• Leading, motivating and inspiring the team as an effective role model.
• Provide an environment that drives employee engagement in line with Company values
• Act on management information which can assist in the efficient running of the Operations Centre
• Undertake resource planning processes, ensuring the levels are effective, productive and consistently increase utilisation while managing resources effectively
• Fulfil all aspects of performance management including setting and agreeing standards of performance
• Ensure all KPIs for all roles are achieved - performance manage all roles ensuring quality and performance
• To be the gatekeeper of health and safety compliance across the operations centre

Skills Required

• NEBOSH Managing Safety or equivalent (essential)
• Hold a Mangers CPC
• Knowledge of Health and Safety and its importance in the workplace
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate teams
• "Out of the box" swift and creative thinker
• A strong team player with excellent communication skills at all levels
