About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and flexible General Cover Teacher to join our full-time team in Wakefield, starting this September. This is a chance to play a vital role in the continued success of our secondary school and is proud to be part of a well-regarded multi-academy trust. You will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons across a broad range of subjects and Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring that students continue to make progress while their usual teacher is absent.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Proven experience working with students aged 11-16.
• An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a variety of subjects and year groups (Key Stage 3 and 4).
• Maintain a positive and focused classroom environment.
• Follow the school's behaviour and safeguarding policies.
• Ensure all students are engaged and on-task throughout the lesson.
• Apply strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Accompany teaching staff and students on visits, trips, and other out-of-school activities.
• Actively promote and support the ethos and vision of the school.
• Participate in meetings as required to meet the needs of the school.
• Be a positive role model for students.
• Contribute to a high-quality teaching and learning environment.
