We have a great opportunity for a Gateman to join our team within Vistry Housebuilding Thames Valley, at our site in Portugal Road Woking GU21 5JE.

  • Valid CSCS Card
  • Valid Traffic Marshal/Banksman card
  • Previous experience of working on a construction site and control of access/egress of staff, operatives & deliveries
  • Previous experience of traffic marshalling
  • Reliable & punctual
  • Ability to communicate effectively with site staff
  • Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times whilst on site

  • Ensure all persons entering the site are authorised to do so
  • Meet all site traffic at the front gate and direct them safely through the site, ensuring any vehicle manoeuvres are safe and do not put anyone in danger
  • Ensure prioritisation of deliveries where required
  • Present a positive image of the Company to all visitors and offer assistance at all times
  • Liaise with site staff to plan ahead for the day’s delivery schedule, along with any other duties requested by the Site Manager
  • General tidying and housekeeping duties
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operative Procedures, in line with current Government guidelines
  • Check/maintain/report any issues with pedestrian/walkway/traffic segregation
  • Check/maintain/report any issues associated with mud/debris tracking out from the site onto the highway/public footpaths
  • Ensure all operatives/visitors are signed in and out of the site
  • Lock up the gate at the end of the day
