Functional Skills Tutor (SEMH Support) - Lyme Regis

Prospero Teaching are seeking a compassionate and experienced Functional Skills Tutor to work one-to-one with a Year 11 student in their home in Lyme Regis. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a young person's life by providing tailored educational support in a safe and nurturing environment.

Location: Lyme Regis

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: 8 hours per week, split over Monday and Wednesday, from 10am onward

Pay: From £20 per hour, depending on experience

About the Student:

The student has Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and benefits from a trauma-informed approach. We are looking for someone who can build trust, offer consistency, and deliver engaging sessions that support both academic progress and emotional well being.

Requirements:

• Experience teaching Functional Skills
• Background working with SEMH students
• Trauma-informed training is essential
• Ability to work independently and adapt sessions to the student's needs
• Patient, nurturing and compassionate
• Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
