Functional Skills Tutor - Appoint Consulting ltd : Job Details

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to deliver high-quality Maths and English tuition across 2 sites in Grimsby and Hull. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in learners’ lives, supporting them to achieve essential qualifications that open doors to further education, employment, and personal growth. You will work with a diverse range of learners, tailoring your approach to meet individual needs and helping each student reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with learners to increase their skill level
• Teaching Maths and English
• Plan and deliver teaching, learning and assessment with learners through various methods, supporting the development and production of teaching and learning materials and resources in both manual and electronic formats
• Ensure learning programmes meet the required criteria
• Supporting the recruitment of young people and adults to learning programmes
• Generating new business opportunities within programmes, ensuring learner caseload is maintained
• Monitor learner attendance and review the learner's progress
• Create reports for all programmes
• Set targets with learners and work with them to achieve these
• Engage employers with learning programmes, ensuring they are involved in progress reviews
• Actively participate in all quality improvement processes, including observations of teaching, learning and assessment
• Ensure all learner records are kept up to date and meet internal quality standards
• Ensure that all correspondence from the organisation is of the required standard and tone

Requirements:

• Be occupationally competent
• Experience in delivering Maths and English
• Experience in supporting young people with a diverse range of needs

Qualifications Required:

• Must have achieved or be willing to achieve, DTLLS/CertEd or the Level 5 Diploma
• In addition, where occupational competency qualifications will be delivered within the role, you must hold or be willing to achieve the assessor award (D32/33/A1/CAVA)
• Must have driving license and own transport
