Front-End Developer

Our client is looking for a Front-End Developer to join their team.

Reports to: Development Team Lead

Salary: £30k-£40k based on experience

Your Role:

As a Front-End Developer, you will work with the Development Team to develop the user interface for our hosting platform. You will use Vue.js and Tailwind CSS for front-end components, work with our designer to ensure that design and user experience needs are in sync, optimise web pages for optimal effectiveness, and maintain brand coherence. 

At the core of your role, you will contribute to the front-end development of our platform, which was designed with our clients in mind. Our platform offers a simple and effortless user experience for their daily tasks. 

You will play a vital role in shaping the user experience by implementing key features and tools that empower our clients to manage their websites and servers efficiently through our hosting platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a high standard of code quality throughout the Platform.
  • Develop new features by converting design visuals into fully responsive front-end code using modern technologies and best coding practices.
  • Fix bugs as and where necessary.
  • Perform code reviews and offer constructive criticism, and give advice where necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Product Designer to implement new features, functionality or updates.
  • Deploy the staging development environment when needed.
  • Ensure all work is browser tested thoroughly before signing off to QA Tester.
  • Work in an Agile environment in fortnightly SPRINT cycles.
  • Champion platform features, and provide suggestions for updates and solutions to bugs.
  • Plan and schedule updates/fixes and liaise with QA Analyst and the wider business with feature updates. 

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • 3+ years of experience in JavaScript web development.
  • A strong understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, Vue.js and Tailwind CSS is also important.
  • Familiarity with UX design principles and best practices.
  • Experience using version control, preferably GitHub.
  • Knowledge of database management and development, ideally MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
  • Understanding software development principles such as object-oriented programming (OOP), Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture, and RESTful web services.
  • Knowledge of server-side technologies such as Apache or Nginx.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues.
