FP&A Accountant

Harlow - 100% office based role.

£55,000 - 60,000 per annum

Based in Harlow, this business has gone through significant growth in the past 2 years and continues to scale up. This role is a key addition to the group finance team and will encompass some traditional elements of management accounting, but heavily indexes towards a forward-looking commercial accounting, analytical role.

This is the first hire in a dedicated FP&A role, and as such requires the ability to implement new reports and financial models and analysis.

The FP&A Accountant will report to the Financial Controller, with a 'dotted line’ to the Finance Director.

Summary of the role:

• Build, maintain and continually develop a framework of management information reporting & KPIs.
• Lead all budgeting, forecasting, and performance measurement.
• Instigate variances with analysis, establishing root causes and providing insights.
• Develop financial models to analyse SKU margins.
• Analyse and report trends in in all areas of revenues.
• Provide periodic and on-demand analytics to facilitate strategic planning, budgeting & forecasting.
• Assist the FD to bring all the MI resources into communication materials that provide a full narrative to the Board & SMT for commercial performance and business decision making.
• Contribute to multiple business development projects regards the impact on management information & reporting.
• Whilst building medium-term solutions, to provide pragmatic short-cut workarounds in the meantime.

Skills & Experience

- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)

- FMCG, manufacturing or other product-based business experience with multiple products/SKUs /Inventory

- Strong data skills with familiarity of reporting /BI tools.

- Experience of managing high volume transactional data.

- Advanced Excel modelling. Demonstrable experience of building models, templates, solutions from scratch

- Ability to gain analysis and insight from imperfect information.

- Highly competent with ERP accounting systems
