Role: Yard Operative (FLT driver)

Location: Sittingbourne

Salary: £17.87/hr (£39,100.00/annum)

Temp to perm opportunity!

Hours: Night Shift 1800 - 0600 (4 on 4 off Continental shift pattern)

Are you a skilled Yard Operative with experience operating forklifts in a fast-paced environment?

Our client, Chep, is seeking an enthusiastic and safety-conscious individual to join their team as a Yard Operative. Adecco in Chatham are working exclusively with Chep to recruit a number of positions for this new exciting project! Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently direct visiting vehicles while loading and offloading goods.
• Maintain the activity flow of the production lines.
• Sort stocks to the correct standards following specific guidelines.

• Ensure trucks and equipment are well-maintained and report any problems

• Carefully handle and store the company's hire stock, following required stock rotations.

• Operate machinery and forklifts

Qualifications:

• Up-to-date FLT qualification (B1) or equivalent. Will consider in-house certificates.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

• Previous experience in a fast-paced warehouse yard or similar environment.
• Minimum 2 years of counterbalance forklift operation experience.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong safety mindset.
• Approachable, adaptable, and flexible approach to meet operational needs.

Shift Pattern/Work Rota: Nights

- Continental 12-hour shift pattern over a 4 on 4 off cycle (18:00-06:00)

• 45-minute paid break.
