About the Role:

Are you passionate about the power of fishing for mental and emotional well-being? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team in Burnley as a Fishing Therapy Teacher. This isn't a classroom job; it's a chance to use the serene environment of our local lakes and rivers to help young people and adults build confidence, practice mindfulness, and develop new skills.

No formal teaching qualifications (QTS) are required. We are seeking someone with a strong passion for fishing, excellent interpersonal skills, and a genuine desire to support others. This is an ideal role for an experienced angler, a youth worker, or someone from a social care background who understands the therapeutic benefits of the outdoors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead small groups in therapeutic angling sessions.

• Teach fishing techniques in a patient and encouraging manner.

• Act as a mentor, guiding participants in a non-judgmental environment.

• Ensure the safety of all participants and adhere to safeguarding policies.

What We're Looking For:

• Extensive personal experience in angling.

• An understanding of the principles of social prescribing or therapeutic activities.

• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.

• A relevant first-aid certificate is a bonus.
