FINANCIAL CONTROLLER - UXBRIDGE

Due to significant expansion they now seek to recruit a financial controller to work directly with the FD based at their Uxbridge head office. This newly developed role represents an excellent opportunity for and ambitious Finance and controls lead, looking for broader responsibilities and the opportunity to make a real positive impact on a growing business.You will be responsible for developing processes, supporting FP&A and business partnering activities, forecasting, working capital and cashflow actuals to the board, development of the P&L and ensure robustness in their core reporting systems. The successful candidate will be a commercially aware individual who will be technically proficient and will have up to date knowledge of all current accounting standards. You will oversee and develop an established team of 12 for this role.

For this role it is essential that you are a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), are proficient technically (production of accounts from top to bottom) and have demonstratable experience of driving revenue and reducing cost in a fast paced, commercial environment. It would also be beneficial to have FMCG experience.

Duties:

  • To act as the Financial Controller responsible for preparation of monthly financial reporting and to ensure that all local and key HQ corporate reporting deadlines for are met.
  • To manage the monthly Income Statement (Actual and FC reports) within the reporting deadlines for review by Group Finance Director.
  • To manage timely and accurate Business Unit Income Statements and balance sheets, with a specific focus on risks and opportunities reporting

  • To manage timely, accurate and completion of financial information for the purposes of the Annual Budget/Plan process
  • To manage timely and accurate cost centre/Depot expenditure reports for departmental managers within monthly guidelines. Supply back up information to local management in response to queries on cost ledger performance reports.
  • To manage the Transfer pricing process monthly and yearly in accordance with company procedures and provide HQ with the required information. Ensure accuracy of all submissions and robust testing of internal controls within all connected departments
  • To continually look for cost saving and efficiency improvement opportunities in the legal entities concerned
  • To continually review, update and test controls to ensure relevance and robustness and to comply with Corporate Standards, comply with company and local legislation (e.g., HMRC)
  • To ensure all external reporting (e.g., HMRC & Companies House filings), compliance and legislative deadline are met where appropriate
  • Oversee Company Banking arrangements and safeguard company assets, working capital and cash ensuring system robust against fraud
  • To lead CU100 treasury and tax pool activities
  • To be an ambassador for Company core behaviour values and lead team within responsibility, mentor, guide and facilitate training where necessary
  • To act as facilitator communicator of financial information to wider senior management team, and junior management team
  • To support on any ad hoc projects and tasks as required by the Group Finance Director and or Managing Director

Benefits:

  • A highly competitive base salary of between £70,000 and £90,000 p/a based on the candidate's experience.
