Otto James Consulting is retained in a search and selection process, with one of our longstanding tech partners, as we look to recruit a newly created position of Divisional Financial Controller.Our partner is an international Tech.org with operations across Europe, Asia and North America, and a Head Office stationed in Manchester City Center.A fast paced, AIM listed, acquisitive, £175million turnover organisation with a growing footprint across the .com sector. Our client is entering a new phase of accelerated growth, driven by both organic performance and a robust M&A pipeline. With strong private backing and a clear strategy, 2025 has been a stellar year and 2026 looks to another of double-digit growth.The Role:As Financial Controller, you will spearhead commercial insight and support across your area. You will work directly with the CFO to drive M&A activity from financial due diligence to post-deal integration and performance.Key deliverables:
- Manage and coordinate reporting processes for the group to meet agreed deadlines including: statutory accounts, monthly flash result, monthly management accounts, cost control, profit forecasts
- Develop value-add MI that provides insight on business performance - increase the level of data analytics in the group to support on decision making and financial plans/ forecasts
- Manage the month end closure process working across the business and the Head of Commercial. Including - journals for sales rebates & internal recharge, payroll, TBs to general ledger, corporation tax
- Prepare and review management reports to ensure accurate formatting, meaningful budget and prior year comparisons, appropriate financial provisions, sensible cost apportionment, and clear, insightful commentary for decision-making.
- Ensure statutory accounts are produced in accordance with all legal, accounting & auditing standards
- Ensure adequate provision is made for stock, bad debts, credit notes, rebates and any other relevant provisions
- Drive strategic process including 3 year plans, budgets and forecasts
- Ensure suitable accounting systems are in place and participate in the development and selection of new systems
- Ensure corporation tax computations are prepared accurately and VAT is accounted for. Assist and participate in R&D Tax credits claim process
- Provide succinct and relevant commentary through analysis to highlight any risks / opportunities to senior stakeholders
Your Profile Applicants must be qualified ACA, CIMA or ACCA and be able to demonstrate how they have provided commercial and strategic support to an organization.
