FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

UP TO £90,000 PA DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

SOUTH WEST LONDON

PERMANENT, FULL TIME – HYBRID WORKING

I have partnered with a pioneering and innovative company to recruit an experienced Financial Controller who is not only an exceptional accountant but also commercially aware, playing a crucial role in guiding the business through periods of growth. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on with company finances and adept at coordinating corporate finance and managing company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity, acquisitions, and HMRC-related matters including R&D tax credit claims.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act proactively to prevent potential issues.
  • Ensure financial systems are robust, compliant, and scalable to support current activities and future growth.
  • Manage financial reporting, statutory reporting, management accounts, and audit for a multi-entity, multi-currency group.
  • Oversee cash and working capital management, including sourcing external finance.
  • Prepare and present annual accounts to investors and manage overall banking relationships.
  • Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring the Board is fully briefed on all financial matters.
  • Communicate with professional advisers for effective tax planning and legal compliance.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with external parties, including customers and advisors.
  • Develop and oversee accounting policies, procedures, and internal control systems.
  • Lead procurement activities to ensure competitive pricing and reliable supply chains.
  • Drive the financial planning of the company by analysing performance and risks.
  • Manage and report on company margins, monthly management accounts, and profit centre reporting.
  • Oversee revenue forecasting and detailed cash flow forecasts to support strategic planning.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of R&D tax credit claims with HMRC, ensuring compliance and maximising eligible returns.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller role.
  • Qualified Accountant - ACA/ACCA.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
  • Experience managing R&D tax credit claims and liaising with HMRC or external advisors.
  • Good understanding of financial modelling
  • Commercially astute, articulate, and insightful.
  • Highly motivated with outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.

Salary : 80000 - 90000
