Financial Controller - Mitchell Adam : Job Details

An established and growing distribution business is looking for a qualified Finance Controller / Finance Manager to lead their finance function. This is a hands-on role, providing strategic support to the business while maintaining robust financial controls and ensuring compliance across all operations.

What the role involves:

• Leading the finance team to deliver accurate, timely management accounts, P&L reporting, and forecasts.

• Managing cash, treasury, and banking operations across multiple entities.

• Ensuring compliance with tax, VAT, payroll, and statutory reporting obligations.

• Driving process improvements, system upgrades, and automation to enhance financial efficiency.

• Supporting budgeting, overhead planning, and financial strategy development.

• Liaising with auditors and other external stakeholders, ensuring smooth annual audits.

• Acting as a key financial business partner, providing insight to support operational and strategic decisions.

Who we're looking for:

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with post-qualification experience in a senior finance role.

• Strong understanding of complex tax, compliance, and multi-entity finance operations.

• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive, with excellent communication skills.

• Experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain finance is highly desirable.

• Comfortable leading projects, improving processes, and supporting the wider management team with financial insight.
