Job Description :

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our client, one of the world’s leading and award winning independent entertainment companies specialising in the production and distribution companies

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyse financial reports, on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards; Assist in budgeting, forecasting, monitor cash flow, revenue streams, and financial performance across different business units.

Royalties & Revenue Accounting: Report, track and reconcile royalty payments to producers, and rights holders; Ensure proper calculation and distribution of streaming, and licensing revenues; Liaise with legal and to ensure compliance with contracts and agreements.

Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage revenue invoicing processes partnering with the relevant teams and payments across the group; Manage producer payments, advances, recoupments, and expense allocations.

Tax & Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and financial reporting standards; Assist with audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting and payroll.

Management: Supervising and developing the Finance Assistant

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Accounting qualification ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting (experience in the media, or entertainment industry is desirable).
  • Proficiency in Excel, accounting software (e.g., Sage), and financial modelling.
  • Basic understanding of royalties, licensing, and revenue recognition.
  • Knowledge of streaming and licensing revenue models, production accounting and contract structures desirable.
  • Multi currency experience and experience working with global client base.
  • Knowledge of taxes VAT, withholding taxes, payroll taxes, corporation tax.
  • Current knowledge of regulatory and legislative changes.
  • Group Accounting experience.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Pro active and innovative in refining workflows and use of automation.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, legal, marketing, operations).
  • Ability to deliver on deadlines and work under pressure.
