In this role the Financial Controller will be responsible for preparing year-end statutory accounts, managing the annual audit process, and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements. You will report into the Director of Finance and lead a small team of two.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver high-quality annual accounts for the organisation, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Lead the annual audit process, managing relationships with external auditors and ensuring timely submission of required documentation.
- File annual accounts with regulatory bodies such as Companies House and relevant government bodies.
- Oversee all tax matters including VAT returns, PAYE, and Corporation Tax returns.
- Line manage the Assistant Financial Accountant (Sales Ledger, Bank, & Balance Sheet) and an Accounts Payable Officer.
- Collaborate effectively with the finance team and key stakeholders across the organization.
- Deputise for the Director of Finance when required.

Key Requirements:
- CCAB qualified with experience in year-end audit and financial statement preparation.
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the charity sector or a complex financial environment.
- Strong IT skills including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and databases.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
