Job Description :

Financial Controller - PE backed Hospitality start-up - Soho - £80-90k + bonus

An exclusive opportunity to be the first finance hire for a PE backed disruptor in the Hotel space.

This is a truly unique opportunity to sit under the CEO of a high-profile new brand, pre-launch, in a premium location in the heart of Soho, heading up finance!

Backed by experienced investors in the industry and led by Hospitality titans with multiple successful new ventures under their belt - this hi-tech disruptor brand will give you significant experience of building a company as a member of the senior leadership team.

The business is providing the opportunity to have real impact and exposure to all levels of the organisation from Board to Investors, as you eventually build a finance team and grow into a Finance Director role. But the role is stand-alone to begin with, so you will need to be hands on and still in the detail until post-launch.

If you believe you have the grit to influence and challenge a CEO and Investors, and get a thrill at the prospect of building a new business - taking it from pre-launch through to eventual sale in several years' time - then this might just be the opportunity to make your career.

The role:

  • Own finance end-to-end, from transactional finance through to FP&A.
  • Own the month-end close, up to Trial Balance, to then be consolidated by the Investment firm.
  • Oversee capex control and forecasting, through to financial planning.
  • Business partner the Commercial Director and Head of IT, being fully engrossed in understanding business drivers and KPIs, provide cost analysis, and build business cases for new investments.
  • Provide a finance lens to all functions of the business, directly influencing decisions across IT, Procurement, and HR - ensuring the business mitigates risks and maximises cost savings.
  • Drive business and process improvements, including the implementation of a new finance system and future investments in new technology.

Experience you will need to be successful in this role:

  • A broad finance background with knowledge of financial and management reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills, including FP&A and financial modelling.
  • An incredibly flexible and adaptable attitude, able to thrive in a chaotic, fast-paced, start-up environment.
  • A high-level of scepticism and attention to detail - with a passion for understanding business drivers and driving business improvements.

Salary : 80000 - 90000
