Transparent is pleased to support one of our longstanding clients in the recruitment of a Financial Controller to oversee financial operations to include financial control and accounting activities of the Plant, as well as general and cost accounting.
Working for a long-established business that is acquisitive and continually growing, your duties will include:
- Responsibility for planning and coordinating the Plant and CAPEX budget, whilst providing direction and insightful costs analysis to the plant and any improvement recommendations
- Preparation of monthly Plant reporting to support decision making to include direct labour variance, material usage, scrap, departmental spend, purchase price, etc.
- Assisting with the month-end close to include review of journals and supporting balance sheet reconciliations
- Conducting in-depth cost analysis to improve operational efficiencies
- Coordination of Plant Managers and Operations to facilitate the periodic update of standard costs in the bill of materials
- Maintaining systems and controls over inventory and Plant fixed assets
- Providing new products costing and CAPEX analysis for new factory projects
- Overseeing the efficiency and accuracy of inventory management processes
- To be the main point of contact for financial issues relating to Plant manufacturing
The Person:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA) or "qualified by experience"
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Excellent communicator with a high attention to detail
- High standard of computer skills to include Excel and ERP systems
