Advertising this role on behalf of a client:

ROLE PROFILE:

As the Financial Controller you will be responsible for the financial control, finance operations and finance reporting to the board of directors and wider shareholder group.

This position will ideally suit someone who has worked within the construction industry (will consider Professional Services / Contracting sectors too) that is looking to be part of an entrepreneurial business environment. In addition to building out the finance function you will also be part of the Senior Leadership Team and paramount to the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

· Managing the finance team day to day operations and overseeing/reviewing sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll, cash posting and all general ledger entries.

· Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.

· Support month-end and year-end close process.

· Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

· Take responsibility for ensuring that the financial processes, systems and controls are operating effectively.

· Responsibility for maintaining statutory records for the business.

· Preparation of all consolidated Statutory Accounts.

· Review of all management accounts packs.

· Handling VAT, PAYE, CIS and any relating Tax duties, including corporation tax.

· Liaise with auditors and preparing audit packs.

· Project management of process changes and implementations.

· Work with budget holders in the preparation and management of departmental budgets.

· Complete monthly payroll.

· Ensure that effective financial systems/procedures are in place including adhering to CIS rules and regulations.

· Work closely with the newly appointed Commercial Manager to ensure smooth, reliable and consistent cross commercial and financial reporting.

· To build and develop board pack over time to report on both financial and commercial performance of the business.

· Any other ad hoc duties required by the directors of the business.

We Are Looking For:

· Full accountancy qualification - ACCA / CIMA.

· Xero experience ideally.

· Experience of payment application process.

· Experience of working within the Construction industry.

· Experience of project managing a software implementation.

· Experience of managing a team.

· Aspirations to become a Finance Director with strong business commercial acumen.

Hours and Salary package:

· £70,000 - £85,000

· Bonus scheme

· Car allowance (potentially)

· 20 days holiday plus bank holidays.

· 08.00 am - 16.30 pm
