Financial Accounting Manager | Public Sector | Staffordshire | Hybrid Working

Castlefield Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a reputable public sector organisation in Staffordshire to recruit a Financial Accountanting Manager on a permanent basis.

The Financial Accounting Manager role will report to and work closely with the Director of Finance and will be responsible for the providing a high providing high quality financial and corporate accounting services, and quality treasury management across both the organisation and their subsidiary companies.

Responsibilities include;

• To be the technical accountancy lead for the Finance team supporting the Director of Finance in the wide range of accountancy services provided across the organisation.
• Leading on core aspects of the accountancy functions including the statement of accounts production, closedown and budget setting processes for revenue and capital.
• Leading on the production of financial reporting to officers and members, ensuring timescales and quality standards are met. 
• Overseeing the development of key financial systems and processes to ensure they continue to meet future needs
• Developing and delivering Medium Term Financial Strategies and balanced budgets
• Playing a key role in developing and delivering the organisation’s transformation programmes, particularly in relation to delivering efficiency savings.
• Deputising for the Director of Finance when required, including attending Committee meetings
• Management and development of Finance team, including line management of Senior Financial Accountant and Financial Accountants

The successful candidate;

• CCAB/CIMA qualified Finance professional with significant post qualification experience and evidence of continuing personal development
• Significant experience of managing relevant teams/areas with demonstrable success
• Strong technical skillset
