Job Description :

We are seeking a qualified Group Financial Accountant to join our Finance department on a 3-4 month contract. This role involves assisting in the preparation of annual financial statements, managing group consolidations, and overseeing various financial processes and audits. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing the group company’s annual financial statements, including group consolidation and obtaining narrative data using MS Word.
  • Oversee the reconciliation and control of the balance sheet, including intercompany reconciliations.
  • Prepare and input journals as required.
  • Develop and maintain group cash forecasting.
  • Manage working capital within the group through Confidential Invoice Discounting facilities, including monthly reconciliations and ad-hoc reporting as required by the bank.
  • Process BACS and bank payments as needed.
  • Manage processes for fixed assets, asset financing, banking, insurance, and company credit cards, including direct liaison with third parties.
  • Oversee the external audit process, including planning and management of annual and interim audits, and handling requests and submissions.
  • Provide support for indirect tax analysis and reconciliation, liaising directly with external tax advisors and HMRC as required.
  • Support recent acquisitions and their finance teams in all financial accounting matters.
  • Manage and support grant claims, including data collation and timely submission.
  • Lead the IFRS16 Leases project to assess impacts on results due to forthcoming changes in accounting, including physical assets contract hire, plus IT and software contracts.
  • Support the business contingency planning project, including writing procedures and backup plans.
  • Engage in additional projects as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Strong numeric and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in multiple IT and reporting platforms.
  • Delivery-focused with the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Effective communicator capable of developing internal and external relationships.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop teams.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a financial accounting role within a medium to large company.
  • Experience in change management related to process improvements.

Salary : 30.77 - 33.33
