Financial Accountant Qualified – Stockport

Salary: £50,000

Operating within the Finance Department, the Financial Accounts and Tax team manages statutory reporting, taxation, and collaborates with external audit teams. As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for producing statutory accounts for entities within the Group. This role involves being a key contact for the monthly submission of statutory information to the consolidation team.

The Role

• Manage monthly statutory reporting to the parent company in Europe for consolidation purposes.
• Oversee the intercompany reporting process and record transactions within
• Act as a key contact in the external audit process and coordinate with relevant Finance teams to achieve audit deliverables.
• Produce statutory accounts for entities within the group.
• Generate balance sheets for all statutory entities within the Group structure, highlighting trends, risks, exceptions, and potential control issues.
• Collaborate with other business/finance functions to minimize balance sheet risk across the Group.
• Prepare the cash flow for the Group and report on variances to budget/forecast.
• Maintain and develop technical accounting knowledge, working towards completion of a professional accounting qualification.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns for review, including risk area assessments and compliance reviews of source documentation.
• Assist in the production of corporation tax calculations and payments.
• Support ad hoc projects and tasks as required by the business, related to financial operations.

Must haves

• Ideally worked with Oracle.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of group accounting and intercompany transactions.
• ACA/ACCA qualified with +2 years PQE experience and a strong technical accounting background.
• Experience in producing statutory accounts, preferably with consolidated accounting knowledge and IFRS.
