Financial Accountant | Public Sector | Nottinghamshire | Hybrid Working

Castlefield Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a reputable public sector organisation in Nottinghamshire to recruit a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis.

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for leading and developing a small team, and plays a key role in providing a comprehensive and professional technical accounting service to the Corporate Management Team and wider organisation. Responsibilities will include;

• Leading on the delivery of a comprehensive financial management and reporting service for the organisation
• Responsibility for the effective setting, monitoring and financial management of all the organisation’s capital programme budgets, including significant projects
• Responsibility for ensuring the organisation adheres to relevant regulation and its own policies in respect of capital financing by producing relevant calculations, analysis and commentary on capital financing requirements and associated accounting concepts
• Ensuring robust financial controls are in place and that financial risk is understood
• Assisting in the production of the Statement of Accounts and for ensuring all relevant capital and project related information is available in a timely manner

The person;

• CCAB/CIMA qualified, with a strong technical accounting skillset
• Experience working within the Public Sector
• Ability to build relationships at senior level
