On Behalf of Arup, we are looking for a Global Finance PMO - Finance Systems and Process Project Manager for 6-month contract based in London/Bristol (hybrid).
Purpose of the role:
The Finance Business Services PMO supports a global change program across Finance Business Services which in turn supports the wider Global Finance strategy.
The role is critical in working with the Group Head of Finance Programmes in delivering as part of an experienced specialist team, those projects that support the wider Finance Business Services team in delivering global change programmes.
What you'll do:
- Drive the effective and efficient delivery of defined projects for finance systems and processes across the global finance community.
- Execute on project deliverables, ensuring business owners and stakeholders are aligned with responsibilities and committed to timelines.
- Coordinate the performance of resources assigned to the project team, consisting of both internal and external people, and oversight of any other dependencies affecting the project.
- Ensure that frameworks are established and actively managed for project planning, scheduling, quality review and governance, including project related risks/issues.
- Proactively monitor progress, resolving issues, identifying alternative solutions, initiating corrective action as appropriate, escalating where necessary to meet project deadlines
- Build and support relationships with business process owners and other stakeholders, managing their expectations during the lifetime of a project.
- Administer and manage Project and Design team meetings, workshops, and reviews. Working closely with process owners and team members to identify requirements, solutions and new ways of working that contribute to the success of a project.
- Monitor, evaluate, record and report on progress within the established project governance framework and performance to agreed budgets.
- Conduct post project reviews, close-down activities and handover to BAU processes/business owners.
- Maintain Project Brief, Project Execution Plans, Records, Reports, Logs and Registers.
- Lessons learnt, take learnings from each project and ensuring these are carried into future projects.
- Use Project Management Tools and Techniques e.g. MS Project, Project Scheduling, Variance Analysis, Risk Analysis, to provide oversight and transparency over project status and outcomes.
The skills you'll need:
- A proven track record of successful project delivery throughout the entire lifecycle from concept, requirements gathering, solutioning through to lessons learnt.
- Expertise in all aspects of project management including project planning, estimating, business case development, budget.v. actual performance, reporting and RAID management (Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies).
- Experience of delivering finance systems and travel management systems as well as process related projects within global, complex and changing finance environments.
- Strong proficiency in project scheduling/reporting computer skills e.g. Microsoft Project, financial accounting, and Excel spreadsheets.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to pass on complex information in a transparent and concise manner.
- Ability to influence decision makers on matters impacting projects and the ability to provide different ways of working/solutions to overcome problems.
- From a change management perspective work with stakeholders to create training manuals and other reference, communications, and reporting materials.
- Experience of managing projects spanning multiple business areas.
