The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly organised and people-focused Finance & Administration Officer to join a dynamic, purpose-driven and growing organisation. Reporting to the Head of Business Operations, this role offers a varied and rewarding opportunity to contribute to both financial processes and administrative operations.

About the Role
This position combines financial and administrative responsibilities to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, excellent stakeholder engagement, and accurate financial management.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Duties
- Manage purchase and sales ledger functions
- Assist with payment runs via BACS
- Handle petty cash, deposits, loans, direct debits, and credit cards
- Process cheque income and reconcile with accounting software
- Maintain purchase ledger and respond to supplier enquiries
- Reconcile control accounts to nominal ledger
- Process staff and volunteer expenses, including mileage claims
- File invoices and financial documentation
- Support month-end and year-end processes
- Provide financial guidance to budget holders
- Manage financial processes related to membership and affiliations
- Support financial planning for future events and initiatives
Administration & Customer Service
- Oversee office management, stock, and supplies
- Act as first point of contact for post, calls, and emails
- Support health and safety compliance
- Deliver excellent customer service
- Assist with administrative tasks across departments
- Provide administrative support across departments
- Support events, AGMs, and awards ceremonies
- Provide basic IT support and troubleshoot office issues
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a finance role
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Understanding of confidentiality, data protection, and financial controls
- Experience in customer service, event coordination, and stakeholder engagement
