Job Description :

Butler Rose is working with one of the largest housing associations in London and the South-East in their search for a Finance Officer (housing industry) to join their friendly Rents & Receipts Finance team. This is a three month temporary opportunity with the possibility of extension and hybrid working (three days in office) and will pay £17.48 an hour to the successful candidate. The primary purpose of the role is to maintain the integrity of the databases and provide a financial and administrative support service in a dynamic environment of Rental Receipts Team. Responsibilities: * Processing rent account adjustments. * Record, store and maintain key data. * Post accurately and promptly all rent receipts and payments of other charges onto Client Housing management system (Northgate) adhering to departmental procedures. * Reconcile and review suspense accounts and take appropriate action leading to allocating payments to clients' accounts. * Spot check and process rent and payment adjustments to accounts ensuring appropriate authorisations have been obtained. * Check and process client refund requests ensuring appropriate authorisations have been obtained. * Provide information relating to rents or service charge payments to any stakeholder. * Ensure any unresolved matters are escalated to the Supervisor. * Ensure journal entries are compiled accurately with respect to accounting convention. Required Experience: * A Finance professional with experience of processing high volumes and values, would also be potentially suitable for this role. * Someone with Income processing experience is preferred however, this is not essential. * Experience of delivering a customer focused service. * Able to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively. * Able to prioritise within pressurised environment to meet required deadlines. * Effective IT skills including basic/intermediate MS Office skills. Knowledge: * Adequate knowledge and understanding of financial processes, preferably within a housing environment. * Understanding of the principles of double entry book keeping is beneficial. * To be aware of the Group's statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations.
