Finance Manager - Robert Half : Job Details

Robert Half are recruiting a Finance Manager for a Welsh charity, based in Cardiff.

LocationNorth Cardiff with a 50/50 hybrid working agreement in place.

Hours of Work

• Full-time: 37 hours per week

• Flexible option: 4-day working week (30 hours)

Salary

• Up to £44,000 for full-time (37 hours)

• £38,000 for 4 days per week (30 hours)

Responsible ToChief Executive Officer

Responsible ForFinance Assistant, Senior Finance Assistant & Finance Assistant

• Set and control the organisation's budgets, financial procedures and accounting system in conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer. Manage and report on the budgets which include a multitude of funders

• Manage the Finance Department staff and oversee all day-to-day financial transactions of the organisation using SAGE Intact, the computerised bookkeeping system. Oversee preparation of the monthly payroll, using SAGE 50 payroll and make PAYE payments and RTI returns to the Inland Revenue

• Maintain an accurate Fixed Asset register

• Liaise with external organisations including Welsh Government, Local Authorities and sector partners involved with the finances of the organisation

• Assist the Chief Executive Officer with the development of fundraising and income generation programmes, including preparing figures for funding applications

• Support the Senior Team with staffing and financing recommendations to the Board

• Ensure compliance with financial and legal requirements

• Assist the accountants with preparation of year-end financial statements

• Support the core team to ensure cyber essential compliance

• Educated to degree level or equivalent (Part qualified/qualified AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA or CCAB)

• Experience in a charitable accounting environment

• Practical experience of Sage Intact accounting

• Payroll, VAT and period end experience

• High level of knowledge of spreadsheets, databases and Power Apps

• Ability to work under pressure

• Tact, diplomacy and ability to work as part of a team

• Commitment to excellence, quality and equality of opportunity

• Knowledge of charities accounting and the voluntary sector
