We are delighted to be recruiting a permanent Finance Manager for a well-established educational organisation. This is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic finance team and play a key role in supporting the organisation’s strategic and operational goals. Reporting directly to the Bursar, you will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and lead a small, dedicated finance team in a supportive and professional environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare statutory accounts, VAT returns, and accurate management accounts
- Oversee cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning
- Manage and support the finance team, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time
- Work closely with clients/service users regarding financial arrangements, including monitoring and arranging payment plans
- Attend senior leadership meetings and present financial information with clarity and credibility
- Support the integration and planning of new initiatives and projects within the organisation
We are seeking someone who:
- Holds at least an AAT qualification
- Has proven experience in finance management, ideally within medium-to-large organisations
- Has experience managing at least one direct report
- Has overseen a wide range of finance responsibilities including statutory accounts, management accounts, VAT, and cashflow forecasting
- Can build strong relationships, communicate effectively with staff and stakeholders, and present confidently to senior leadership
- Balances professionalism with approachability, demonstrating emotional intelligence and a good sense of humor
- Is organised, proactive, and able to manage their own time while supporting the team effectively
