Job Description :

Kenneth Brian Associates are delighted to be partnering with a long-established and respected construction group in Sutton, who are seeking a Finance Manager to join on a 12-month fixed term contract.

Key Duties:
  • Full responsibility for financial reporting.
  • Providing accurate and insightful management information to the Directors and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Ownership of P&L, cash flow forecasting, and group consolidations.
  • Delivering budgets and overseeing year-end processes.
  • Proactively challenging financial performance and supporting commercial decision-making.
  • Ensuring strong cash-flow management and tight financial controls.
  • Presenting management information at bi-monthly Board meetings.
  • Ensure ledgers are reconciled and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Prepare month-end management accounts with clear and insightful commentary.
  • Group reconciliations and consolidated reporting.
  • Streamline and improve accounting systems and processes, including cost allocation accuracy.
  • Deliver reliable reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Oversee monthly payrolls and ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE, P11D and CIS requirements.
  • Budget preparation, KPIs, and reporting against budget.
  • Manage the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Prepare high-quality year-end packs for all subsidiaries and liaise with external accountants.
About You
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least 3 years’ post-qualification experienc or Qualifed by extensive experience.
  • Construction industry experience is essential.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a small finance team.
  • Strong experience with group accounting.
  • Confident in identifying problems, analysing cost reports, and implementing improvements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to challenge senior management where necessary.
  • Commercially astute with SME experience.
  • Knowledge of lean processes or process improvement would be advantageous.
