Finance Manager - JHE & Partners : Job Details

JHE & Partners are excited to be working with a very successful company as they look to recruit an experienced Finance Manager on a permanent basis. This role would suit a qualified accountant who is looking to take a step up into management, or has recent managerial experience.

The Finance Manager will provide financial leadership and oversight of daily accounting operations. This role will manage a team of five and be responsible for the delivery of accurate, timely financial reporting and analysis the UK manufacturing business.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of 5 (transactional finance and one Assistant Accountant)
• Oversee core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, general ledger, and financial analysis.
• Prepare and post month-end journal entries (prepayments, accruals, revenue adjustments, manufacturing variances).
• Produce timely and accurate management accounts
• Maintain and manage the fixed asset register
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Review and approve payroll and supplier payments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial controls
• Support both internal and external financial audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to auditor requests
• Identify and implement improvements to financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency, control, and reporting accuracy
• Participate in ad hoc financial projects and initiatives

Applicants will hold a professional accountancy qualification. Experience in manufacturing would be advantageous but not essential, as would managerial experience, though again not essential. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formula-driven reports) will be required, as will a good understanding of finance systems.
