Main Duties
?? Financial Management
- Drive the annual budgeting cycle, working closely with programme leads to align financial planning with organisational goals.
- Deliver clear, actionable financial insights to senior leadership and governance boards.
- Prepare and present monthly reports, including management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and variance reports.
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Receivable
?? Financial Operations
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations including invoicing, reconciliations, and payment processing.
- Ensure smooth cash flow management and accurate handling of trainee-related finances.
- Process payments for suppliers, trainees, and bursaries in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage fee collection and standing orders, ensuring prompt resolution of payment issues.
?? Programme Collaboration
- Partner with programme teams to support financial planning across multiple training streams.
- Provide tailored financial advice to help programme leads manage budgets effectively.
- Represent finance at governance meetings, contributing to strategic discussions and planning.
?? Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all financial activities meet regulatory and internal standards, including charity and company law.
- Lead the development and review of finance policies, embedding best practices.
- Manage supplier relationships and contracts, ensuring value for money and performance oversight.
- Implement robust controls to identify and mitigate financial risks.
?? Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a small finance team, fostering a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and Health & Safety within the finance function.
What you'll bring
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience of financial procedures and processes, including forecasting, budgeting and monitoring.
- Knowledge of internal and external audit
- Accounting skills up to Profit and Loss and Trial Balance
