Finance Manager - Reed : Job Details

• Job Type: Full-time (35 hours per week, flexible working available including weekends)

• Salary: £36,423.24 to £45,811.32 per annum depending on experience

Reed Accountancy Oxford are delighted to announce that they are partnering with a registered charity dedicated to restoring and maintaining locomotives in a living museum thriving with the help of both volunteers and staff. As a Finance Manager, you will oversee the financial operations within the organisation, managing various aspects of the finance system used across approximately 30 restricted funds.

• Manage all aspects of the finance system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Supervise a finance assistant responsible for the purchase ledger and other transactional processes, aiming to improve systems as needed.
• Conduct bank reconciliations for all sterling accounts and oversee payment runs, including arranging the movement of funds.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accurate postings in Sage.
• Handle payroll for approximately 20 staff members.
• Prepare and submit group VAT returns using MTD software.
• Process monthly donations with precision.
• Provide management account information to the charity treasurer and assist with budget preparation.
• Manage administration related to Gift Aid claims.
• Liaise with external accountants and auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.

• Proven experience in a similar finance role.
• Proficiency in Sage 50 accounting software.
• AAT qualification or qualified by experience (QBE).
• Highly organised and detail-oriented.
• Confident communicator, capable of working closely with various stakeholders.

Desirable: Experience with partial VAT operations and Gift Aid.
