Finance Manager (Part-Time)

About the Role
An experienced and proactive Finance Manager is sought to lead the finance function within a senior leadership team. This role is responsible for strategic financial planning, reporting, compliance, and the day-to-day management of a small finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the organisation’s financial health and long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and annual budgets
- Provide financial analysis and advice to senior leadership and the Board
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and performance monitoring
- Oversee payroll, credit control, and financial systems
- Ensure compliance with legal, tax, and audit requirements
- Manage year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors
- Support funding applications and income generation strategies
- Supervise and develop two direct reports within the finance team
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience
- 2+ years in finance or accounting management
- Proficiency with accounting and payroll software
- Experience preparing budgets, reports, and year-end accounts
- Strong understanding of financial compliance and audit processes
- Team management experience
Desirable
- Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector
Skills & Attributes
- Excellent Excel and IT skills
- Strong communication and presentation abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of charity finance
Qualifications
- Part or fully qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
- Membership of a professional finance body preferred
- Evidence of continuing professional development
